Founded in 2015, Croatia Whiskey & Spirits Club (formerly MIVA Whiskey Club) is the first club of its kind in Croatia. Considering that in Croatia even today, and especially then, the selection of premium whiskeys is very limited, we wanted to bring them closer and make it possible for fans of this noble drop, and to learn something about them along the way.
Through various topics at our workshops, we learn more about the entire process that is needed to create a drink from various types of grain that is served on special occasions, but also in everyday informal moments, for centuries.
At each workshop, we cover one topic and taste a minimum of 5 whiskeys related to it. The workshops are also accompanied by attractive presentations, and the lecturers are Dario Grabarić and Jure Andrijašević, so far the only two people who have passed the 'WSET Level 3 in Spirits' exam in Croatia.
In addition to whiskey, we occasionally take a trip to other drinks, so we have covered topics such as gin, tequila, rum, beer, mezcal and others.
Club members are people from different professions, different ages and different interests, and they all have one thing in common - that they love whiskey! It is important to emphasize that the workshops are suitable for people who are just starting to discover the world of whiskey and do not have much prior knowledge, and at the same time for experienced connoisseurs, some of whom have been members of the club since day one. Non-members can also attend the workshops, and it is also possible to surprise a loved one with a voucher for participation in one of the workshops.
Workshops in Zagreb are held once a month (usually on the first Tuesday of the month) at Caffe bar Figaro, Maksimirska cesta 71v
