A weekend tour that combines the freshness and playful carefreeness we seek in summer with the warmth, fullness, and layering of powerful wines that warm and pamper the soul in winter.
We are traveling to the northeast of Italy, where we will visit some famous appellations and vineyards of Friuli/Julian Krajina and Veneto - two of the largest and most important Italian wine-growing regions. Of course, you can add to that all those positive clichés of the beautiful neighboring countries: culture, art, history, tradition, gastronomy "famiglia" (family), and of course - love.
On the other side of the border from the Goriška Brdo, the micro-region of Colio and the wonderful vineyards of Tenuta Borgo Conventi await us, where we will take a break, taste the famous wines from Colio and have lunch in their restaurant before heading to the spectacular Villa Sandi in the heart of Valdobbiadene. Beneath the baroque opulence of the villa, there are kilometer-long cellars that we will visit, taste the liquid secrets that abound, and find out why prosecco became so popular and why some wines from certain locations reach the prices of champagne. A walk through the magnificent vineyards with the indispensable prosecco in hand will be the ideal aperitivo before an authentic dinner at the superb restaurant Locanda Sandi, followed by rest in a nearby 4-star hotel
After an invigorating breakfast, we arrive in Valpolicella Classico, a region world-famous for its red wines, especially powerful and juicy Amarone - the most famous Italian dry wine made from dried grapes, which we will taste at the Damoli family winery. The road takes us further to the city of love - Verona, famous for its culture, gastronomy, and Romeo and Juliet. A tour of the beautiful city center, a visit to Julia's house, and lunch at a local pizzeria will be the ideal end to this weekend trip. We are leaving for Zagreb, where we will arrive in the late evening on Sunday.
This tour is designed for a small group of true lovers of wine and culture and all true hedonists.
