Although relatively small in size, Croatia's unique shape and geographic position – nestled between the Alps, Adriatic, and the Pannonian Plain – results in an astounding diversity of soils and climates.
Over the last 30 years, significant developments and investments in the wine industry have delivered wines that surprise with their quality and variety of grape sorts and styles - with Croatia rightly becoming the "new wine star of Europe." Currently, it is home to over 140 different varieties, with many of them indigenous and often very rare, keeping production limited and of the highest quality.
In addition to its natural characteristics, the Croatian winemaking tradition, culture and mindset of its people have also been shaped by historical circumstances and influenced by neighboring countries, making this region feel almost like the "European crossroads".
